      I love these molds too! Thank you so much for watching 🫶 I made the hole my sticking a skewer into the middle of the mold before pouring. It was a bit challenging to get out, so I tried a metal clay tool as well and it had the same amount of friction. I find that twisting the skewer before the rose fully hardens helps! :)

      @joolieshome 20 дней назад

      Thank you for watching! I've had that problem as well with my spray sealer. It can be frustrating to see splotchy marks ruin your piece after all your hard work. The only thing I can recommend is spraying the can a few times before using it to make sure it comes out as a nice mist and make sure not to spray it too close.

    Beautiful. Do the small silicone cups get really hot? I use them for soap but wanted to try them for candles?

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome 20 дней назад

      Yes, they do get very hot. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll add a note in the description of my video. Sometimes I'll wrap a paper towel around it while pouring, but I can usually manage the heat. If you have a pouring pitcher with a handle, I'd recommend using that over the silicone cups. Thank you for your comment!

  • @itses4133

    I believe the math is correct. The total is 7 oz. 7 × 15% is 1.05. Now you can do 7 -1.05 = 5.95. And to check your diffuser base can do 7 oz x 85 % = 5.95. This is how i do my percentage calculations.

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome 20 дней назад

      Thanks for letting me know! I followed instructions from candle science. I believe it's correct based on their youtube videos :)

  • @sofiaxroseco
    @sofiaxroseco Месяц назад

    FYI: For a 7oz product, if you're only adding 5.95 oz of diffuser base and 1.05 oz of fragrance oil, you're actually at 18% fragrance load. If you want 7 ounces of total product between diffuser and fragrance oil, you will need 6.09 oz of diffuser base and 0.91 oz of fragrance oil - to verify the math, divide the amount of fragrance oil by your amount of diffuser base (0.91 ÷ 6.09) and that will give you the load percentage. Alternatively, you can just add 1.05 oz of FO to the 7 oz of diffuser base (as 1.05oz -is- 15% of 7oz), but you will have 8.05 oz of total product.

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome Месяц назад

      thanks for the input! I’m so glad you brought this up because I kept questioning my math. I agree with your logic, that’s how I calculate the fragrance load for all my candles, but many videos/sites I came across instructed to do it the way I did. Village craft and candle’s ifra sheet and also candle science’s site/ videos also had directions to calculate it this way so I kept going back and forth trying to figure out the proper calculation. It was my first time making home fragrances which is why I decided just to follow the directions from reputable suppliers. Do you know why they are suggesting possibly an incorrect calculation?

    • @itses4133
      @itses4133 Месяц назад

      18 % of fo to the 7 oz would be 1.26 oz of fo.

    • @joolieshome

      Hi! Good question! These are meant for wax melters. You break them into cubes and melt pieces of fragrant wax which release fragrance into your home. If you place them in an electric melter, there’s no open flame so people with children or pets may prefer this flameless option. Hope that helps :)

      I made so many mistakes with jesmonite 🫣 but I agree! Patience and consistency make it better. Is it the wet spots from the spray sealer you’re having issues with? I use the mod podge spray sealer and sometimes it looks amazing and sometimes I get wet spots depending on how it decides to come out😅 so I always test the spray can before each use. it can be frustrating when the sealer ruins your piece after perfecting everything else!

    This was a great tutorial! I was able to print from Canva using your video. How can I adjust the size to print to my 4x6 labels? So far the image is only printing half the size of the label. Thanks again!

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome Месяц назад

      I'm so glad you found it helpful! To adjust the size, double check that you've selected the right paper size ie. 4x6. If you've already selected the correct size but it's still printing on half the label, then you can play around with the "scale" of the image. 1.) If the file that you created in Canva is 4x6, you can select, "scale to fit" then to the right of it, select "print entire image" or "fill entire paper". Play around with both and you can see in the preview how it'll look. 2. If your Canva image isn't 4x6 (maybe a smaller size) then you can select "scale" and adjust the percentage up so it fills a larger part of your paper size ie. 110%, 120% adjust the % until you like how the image fills your paper. Hope that helps! Thank you so much for watching :)

    Hello, it’s me again. I have a question. Since you figured out how much wax you need for each mold. how do you know how much fragrance oil you to add?

    • @joolieshome
      @joolieshome Месяц назад

      Hi again! Great question! So if you want to be super accurate with your measurements with no waste, then here’s the formula (everything is in grams rounded to whole numbers): Wax amount needed = [Total weight of candle / (1 + Fragrance oil (%))] Eg. For the bubble candle (total weight of candle is 147g from my video) with 8% fragrance oil, it would look like this: Wax amount needed= [147g/ (1+ 0.08)] Wax amount needed is 136g Then to find the fragrance oil amount, you just subtract 136g from the total weight of the candle which is 147g. FO needed= 147-136 You’ll need 11g of FO for this candle if you use 8% fragrance load. An easier way is just taking 147g which is the total weight of the candle and multiplying it by your fragrance load %. You’ll have a bit left over with this method, but it’s a quick calculation. Eg. 147g x 0.08= 12g of fragrance oil (numbers vary slightly due to rounding) Here’s a chart for how much wax and fragrance oil you need based on 8% fragrance load. If you’d like help with a different fragrance percentage let me know and I’ll remake the chart for you :) total weight (g) FO (g) wax (g) bubble candle 147 11 136 mini bubble 36 3 33 body candle 84 6 78 small twist 88 7 81 cushioned cube 178 13 165 arch 239 18 221 rubiks cube 208 15 193 geometric pillar 66 5 61 u-shaped arch 144 11 133

      @@joolieshome I'm very thankful for your help! This has helped me understand how candle-making works. I will give it a try to make a candle with the fragrance load.

      @@joolieshome sorry to ask you another question. I had a silicone mold that holds 76 grams of wax when soil and in liquid form is 2.7 oz. But I'm around it up to 3oz. Which way so the correct way to find my F.O For example, I wanna do 6% of F.O Would it be 76 grams x 0.06 = 4.56 grams Or 3oz x 0.06 = 0.18 oz But I noticed it was hard to do 0.18 on my scale.
